We met Mr. & Mrs. K at Nokendai Station.  As Mr. K had studied in the U.S., he got excited at chatting with the students soon after he met them. We sat at a kotatsu (a Japanese table with a heater) and had some sushi roll, tempura and miso soup for lunch.  After that, they tried wearing kimono, which made them so excited.  Even foreign people look nice in kimono.  We had to say good bye though they wanted to stay there longer.  I’m sure they could see a part of the Japanese people’s ordinary life by dropping in a 100 yen shop and walking through a local shopping street in Sugita on the way back to the boat.
