At Keihin Kyuko Railway Corporation, we listened to the lecture about the work of train conductors and had a simulator experience of them. Then we went to see how trains were repaired and inspected. At the large main gate of Kawasaki Daishi Temple, when I talked about unlucky years and the exorcism ritual, everyone got excited over talking about this topic for a while. Then we worshiped at the main hall of the temple. At Ajinomoto Kawasaki Plant, we learned that a Japanese had discovered umami (a savory taste) among the five basic tastes. At the taste comparison session, when we tasted umami flavor, we tried having miso soup without and then with Ajinomoto, everyone said, ”The latter is more delicious!” At the Hondashi factory, we experienced shaving dried bonito and saw a process of making granulated Hondashi, their quality control system, and a packing process respectively.
