[KSGG Attendants] 17 members
KSGG members gave a kimono-wearing class in advance, and 20 visitors actually wore kimono on this day. As kimono has made the wearers quite elegant, I was surprised at its potential power.
In the next room, a Japanese calligraphy class was held. Each participant chose a favorite kanji character from among 春 (spring), 夏 (summer), 秋 (autumn), 冬 (winter), 愛 (love) and so forth, practiced three times, and wrote it on a beautiful, square piece of thick paper. In the end they had Japanese sweet dumplings and a cup of green tea, and were given a paper doll present made by a KSGG member.
As for this event, we were busy preparing for it in advance, but felt that our efforts were rewarded when we saw them jumping for joy at wearing kimono for the first time, and proudly assuming poses before a camera. On the other hand, since we rarely wear kimono in our daily life these days, I realized that we should make it a good opportunity to look our wonderful kimono culture over again.
