The visitors were pleased at the bookmarks of Japanese paper dolls made by female KSGG members, and were surprised by the enigmatic, colorful, and fascinating decorations of the Star Festival which they saw for the first time. All the visitors enjoyed the Star Festival at their discretion: some wrote their wishes on the cards and hung them on the bamboo branches, and some borrowed yukata from a kimono shop and wore it.
At the International Exchange Salon (IES) of Hiratsuka International Exchange Association (HIEA), the visitors received a warm welcome, relaxed themselves, and tried to challenge cultural programs, such as cat’s cradle and calligraphy.

As two female JICA participants from Moldova were thinking which to make, an ox for the year or a small gift envelope, I said to them, “We use a small envelope to put gift money in on happy occasions celebrating longevity, childbirth, entrance to school, and so on. How about putting your greeting card or love letter in it?” They liked my idea very much and made small gift envelopes carefully.
