Guiding a Philippine Couple on the Star Festival Day

The husband was a retired bank employee and my impression of him was quite different from what I had assumed: a tropical easygoing character.
The wife was interested more in shopping than in sightseeing. Therefore, at Engakuji Temple I guided the husband alone. At Tsurugaoka-Hachimangu Shrine and Hasedera Temple, I stayed with the wife, while only the husband enjoyed sightseeing with his camera. We had lunch at a self-serve Japanese noodle restaurant. I thought they were trying to enjoy their trip in Japan without spending much money.
