It was their second visit to Japan. Their son got married to a Japanese woman, and
they celebrated their wedding in the U.S. last year. As their wedding banquet would be held in Kashima City, Ibaraki Prefecture, this summer, the main purpose of their visit to Japan was to attend the banquet.
At Tokeiji Temple, they were deeply impressed with Yagura, or burial caves, and the moss-covered gravestones of the successive chief priests. After lunch, we moved to Hokokuji Temple by bus. The husband who got on a Japanese bus for the first time looked very happy.
