At first, we visited Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine, and I explained that this shrine had been established in 1991 by Minamotono Yoritomo, the first shogun of the Kamakura shogunate. The participants were interested in omamori (charm), omikuji (paper fortune), and ema (tablet of wishes). The Mongolian participants were talking about sumo wrestling, especially about Hakuho and Harumafuji, the grand champion sumo wrestlers from Mongolia. The participants were so impressed at the majestic appearance of the Great Buddha that some of them were praying sitting on the knees. Taking off their shoes, the participants walked from Koshigoe to Enoshima Island along the beach. We ended the tour after walking around Enoshima Island for about one hour.
