Probably the crew was recommended to shoot a video of the mossy stairs with flags by an artist who lives in Kamakura. After I negotiated with Sugimotodera Temple about the shooting place, I paid attention to ensure that the shooting won’t bother other visitors. Against the background of the mossy stairs, the crew explained about individuality and tradition, referring to Takamura Kotaro’s critical essay, Midori no Taiyo (Green Sun) written. I hear that this video will be used at schools and as TV programs. It was an exposition day of the main statue of the temple held once a month. So we were able to see the statue directly.
