The visitor was much interested in Japanese culture and history, especially traditional events and rituals about Shinto and Buddhism. Wherever we visited, she asked me sharp questions and gave me her impressions about each place. She said, "Buddhist monks shave their heads, but Shinto priests don't!" "What do you sprinkle a mixture of red pepper and other spices over?" – A chief of the shop said, "Over miso soup of bony parts of a fish." At the end of the tour we sat on a bench in front of sanmon (temple gate) of Engakuji Temple and enjoyed sweets for tea ceremony. She said to me, “I'm very happy to be here now. I'm grateful to you, your family, and KSGG."
