[Participants] 13 foreign students/trainees from 9 countries, with 4 from Indonesia, 2 from Australia, 1 each from Korea, Russia, New Zealand, Benin, Jordan, Uzbekistan, and China.

Mr. N., Yokomizo Residence’s custodian, was kind enough to give us 20 yukatas and sashes, which were equal in number to the foreign participants. Our KSGG members took pains to dress the foreigners, while they looked very happy in yukata, with their initial uneasiness dying on their faces. All the participants, especially foreigners, appreciated the Japanese atmosphere with powdered green tea and sweets. Yokomizo Yashiki, or Yokomizao Residence, is about 350 years old as a farmhouse, with its garden well-maintained. Now it is designated as one of cultural properties by Yokohama City. Surrounded by this wonderful piece of scenery, the visitors at Yokomizo Residence could rest themselves over a cup of green tea, losing themselves in happiness.
As yukata and sash, and a Japanese doll stored in a glass case were presented, everyone was surprised at such hospitality and said, “Can I really have them?” Then Mr. N., Yokomizo Residence’s custodian, said, “Sure, you can have them all.” It seems customary that some visitors can receive gifts like these at events organized by volunteer groups like KSGG. We also thanked him for his kindnesses and left Yokomizo Residence.

Yukata Party (Learning how to put on a cotton kimono) was held at Yokomizo Residence on June 26 and eight participants gave us thank-you notes, three of which are as follows:
