It was the third time for me to guide Korean judicial scriveners. Goryo Jinjya Shrine is dedicated to Kamakura Gongoro Kagemasa, a famous samurai worrier who was a member of Kanto-Heishi family. He is famous for his bravery. On September 18, which is his death anniversary, a festival called "Menkake Gyoretsu Parade" is held at this shrine. This festival took part in Andong International Mask Festival held at Andong, Korea in 2008. In the next year, a traditional mask play of Andong participated in "Menkake Gyoretsu Parade" (a procession by people wearing masks), as a special entry. Since then, there have been friendly relations between Kamakura City and Andong City. They were very impressed with the grass-root exchanges, and wished the long-lasting relations for future. And then, we strolled around the precincts of Hasedera Temple and Kotokuin Temple (Great Buddha) on a comfortable warm autumn day.
