At Otsuka-Saikachido Relics Park--a quasi-national historic site, traces of villages and tombs built in the Yayoi period were explained by our guides in English and Japanese. For lunch, we had fresh buckwheat noodles in a solemn room of the House of Nagasawa, a stately and dignified old house built in the Edo period. In its yard, koinobori or carp-shaped streamers were flying in the sky.
After lunch we visited Syokakuji Temple, which is called “Flower Temple” and popular among the locals. Wisterias, which had just begun to bloom and peony flowers, which were in full bloom, were really beautiful. We took a rest in Chigasaki Park full of beautiful fresh green leaves, and went to an old private house, the goal of our tour, through Seseragi Park.
We understand that the tour was favorably received by the participants as it was full of variations and they could enjoy walking moderately.
