We covered this tour as we responded to an interview from the reporters this time. We were a bit strained at first, but gradually got on the right track and could guide them better with a smile to get across our hospitality strongly to the visitors.
Hasedera Temple full of hydrangea and the Great Buddha are the symbols of ancient capital Kamakura. The TVK reporters, who were fascinated by the beautiful scenery, took the pictures of them.
The trainee from Armenia said that his country, which is located between the Black Sea and the Caspian Sea, was already active in world-wide commercial efforts in 600 B.C. In December 1991, Armenia became independent after the disorganization of the Soviet Union. He also said that Armenia has been hit by a lot of earthquakes.
Armenia, the main industries of which are agriculture, technology, and jewelry, exports diamond and gold, and is rich in mineral resources, such as copper, zinc, and molybdenum, which are produced in its southernmost part.
Armenia, whose capital is Yerevan, has a population of 3,080,000.

★ A Pakistani trainee praying in the direction of Mecca kneeling down on moss wet with rainwater
The Pakistani trainee is a pious Muslim. He was to be present at lunch for TVK’s interview, but did not show up. He said he passed it as he had to pray five times a day. In the afternoon, he cared a lot about the direction toward west, gazing at a magnet of my pedometer. I showed him the direction toward west by the temple gate of Kotokuin, as it was time for his prayer before evening, then he took off his shoes, and began to repeat a series of reverent “stand up and kneel down” actions for 3 minutes on the wet moss after rain, without minding about it at all. I had known about that prayer, but saw it right in front of me for the first time.
As his prayer was over, he looked relieved, recovered his natural cheerfulness, and then gave a smile of satisfaction. I imagined that it was a moment of relaxation to the Pakistani trainee whose country is seething with social unrest and uncertainties caused by Taliban and its terroism.
