On Wednesday, June 3, I visited Cuauhtemoc mooring to the New Port Pier. Cuauhtemoc, the same name as the last king of Azteca Kingdom, with a snow-white hull welcomed me.
I understand that after leaving the port in Tokyo Bay, Cuauhtemoc will call at Onjuku-machi, Chiba Prefecture, as a ceremony will be held there in commemoration of a Mexican ship that was stranded 400 years before off the cost of the prefecture. According to the web, “A Mexican ship on the way from the Philippines, which was then a Spanish colony in 1609, to Mexico was stranded, and more than 300 passengers were rescued by professional woman divers and fishermen then.”
