A yukata-wearing workshop was held for “Tea and Kimono-wearing Party” scheduled for October 31, as we had intended to increase the number of KSGG members who can show how to wear kimono and join in the party. Some female members, including their leader, who always wear kimono beautifully at various events, demonstrated some tying patterns of obi, or sashes, good for yukata, or the informal cotton kimono for the summer season. We beginners were unable to move our hands well at first as we had
wanted to, but were able to tie sashes in some patterns through a lot of practices. It will take some time before we can learn them completely, but all the participants looked contented when they put on their own yukata and tied their sash in the pattern or form of their own choice in a pleasant manner.
