[Date & Time] Wednesday, October 17, at 9:30~18:00
[Spot] Sankeien Garden
[Visitor] 1 British woman
[Attendant] 1 KSGG member
[Language] English
The visitor is a teacher who teaches English to Japanese people. She is interested in Japan and studies Japanese. At Sankeien Garden, she was impressed with many teahouses and buildings transferred from Kyoto. At Gassho Zukuri style houses (steep-roofed houses), from a volunteer guide, we learned a lot, including that smoke and soot from the sunken hearth make the pillar shiny black and make thatched roof stronger. She was so happy not only to have powdered tea but also to have a chance to make tea.
