This year, our yukata party was held in Tsuzuki Folk House Garden which is 10
minutes’ walk from Center Kita Station of the Yokohama Municipal Subway. The Folk House with a bamboo garden and a
relics park nearby was built in the middle of the Edo Period and has a relaxed
atmosphere. Our woman members in yukata welcomed our guests. They received a yukata, cotton kimono, with a smile and the members helped them put
on the yukata. The guests in yukata had some fun having their photos taken against a background
of the Folk House Garden. And then, they
listened to beautiful Japanese traditional sounds during the Japanese harp and
bamboo flute concert held in the quiet house.
After the concert, they tried to play those musical instruments
following the players’ guidance. The party was closed after having tea and a
chat. As our member prepared for the
event well by getting enough yukata, checking
the place beforehand, making arrangements and so on, we had a great time with
no problem.
