It was a day with a comfortable sea breeze, but when we were walking up and down the mountain pass we felt sweaty and thus felt like swimming in the sea. KSGG’s guiding activities are mainly guiding the visitors from overseas. This time we attended the foreign students, mainly university students, living in Japan. The aim of this tour was hiking. We explained about the places we were going and so on as quickly as possible and only called the roll at some places. They enjoyed taking pictures, posing for pictures, having sumi (charcoal) ice cream with powdered charcoal and chatting as much as they liked. For lunch we went to the seashore near Iwaya Cave, where many people were enjoying catching crabs, chatting, and so on in fine weather. In the sky there were whirling as many kites as there were people on the beach. We ate lunch covering our food carefully so that kites might not take them away. Some participants barely escaped from their food being snatched by a kite flying down. All the members including us took great care of each other and finished having lunch without any trouble. On the way back, as many participants wanted to take a ship, we had an about ten-minute sea trip by Benten-maru to Benten-bashi. On the ship they enjoyed a sea breeze on the backward deck. It was impressive to see the participants who came from countries without sea greatly excited. We ended the tour with their words ‘”I hope to come here again privately” and their smiles.
