[Date & Time] Sunday,
December 1, at 11:00~16:40
[Spots] Tsurugaoka Hachimangu
Shrine, Hasedera Temple and Kotokuin Temple (Great Buddha)
[Visitors] 8 JICA participants
from 8 countries, with 1 each from Afghanistan, Indonesia, Uzbekistan, Uruguay,
Cambodia, Serbia, Thailand, and Papua New Guinea
[Languages] English and Spanish
[Attendants] 16 KSGG members
We divided the participants into two groups and started
guiding. The woman from Serbia and the man
from Uzbekistan desired to go to the beach because there is no sea in their own
countries. They looked very happy to see
the sea. At Tsurugaoka Hachimangu
Shrine, we saw lots of parents and children wearing kimono visiting the shrine to celebrate the Seven-Five-Three
Festival. We asked three families if they didn’t mind
being taken photos with the participants.
As all of them said “No” without hesitation, we could take photos of the
participants and the families with all smiles.
The participants said to the children “Arigato (Thank you)!” The
children returned “Thank you!” to them.
I felt happy to see a scene of a bit of international exchange.
