Ms.U, one of KSGG members explained to the 12 mothers
about how kimono is made and the
knack of putting it on. She also said
that handling of neckline is the most important for dolls as well. She carefully explained how to handle
Japanese paper and paste it. After that
the mothers were divided into 3 groups and they started making the paper dolls.
After working hard to make their first doll, they relaxed and made their second
dolls over chatting. Although they made
a few mistakes in making dolls, all of them completed two dolls. As many of them wanted to make more dolls,
the 70 kits we had prepared were almost used up. We got comments from them, “I want to decorate
a Christmas tree with my paper doll or give it as a present,” or “I’ll send it
to my parents in my hometown.”
