We left Shonan International Village by bus, and after our self-introduction, we started our guiding. Showing my miniature koinobori (carp-shaped streamer), we explained about Boys Festival, Japanese food culture, Japanese history, Mt. Fuji, the difference between Shinto deities and Buddha, and so on with humor. The participants seemed to be interested in our explanations. Thirty minutes on the bus passed quickly. We visited the Great Buddha in Kotokuin Temple, Hasedera Temple, and Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine. Since it was spring, many kinds of flowers were blooming in the temples and big peony flowers of vivid color were unforgettable above all. Every guest was friendly. Although they might have been tired from attending a lot of meeting, they listened to our explanations eagerly and seemed to enjoy them. It was a memorable and pleasant day for us, too.
