[Date and Time] Saturday, May 1, at 9:00 ~ 17:30
[Spots] Hasedera Temple, Kotokuin Temple, A Riccione (an Italian restaurant) Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine, Hokokuji Temple, Komachidori Street, and Milk Hall (coffee shop)
[Visitors] An American couple (from Michigan )
[Attendant] 1 KSGG member
[Language] English
The visitors were an American wife, who is a picture book author and modern quilt maker, and her husband, and it was their first visit to Japan. Since we had exchanged some information on tour arrangements and our backgrounds beforehand, we were on Enoden train like friends reunited after a long separation. Even on a busy street, they often exclaimed, and attended to me when I talked about Japanese culture. They must have spent a day leisurely in Kamakura, without missing anything, regarding with good artistic sensibility harmony between temple and garden in narrow space, balance between color and form arranged, and consideration shown by Japanese people. How nice it would be to find in her future picture book her favorite 16 statues of the Benten Cave, the inside of the Great Buddha, the story of the large straw thongs, a bride in a white bridal kimono, and a tall bamboo grove.
