Rice is really an Asian Staple Food--Highlights of JICA ’s “Asian Night”

At the beginning of the “Asian Night,” M.C., a male trainee from India, gave an opening speech, followed by songs and dances performed by JICA trainees. Among all the performances, the most wonderful one was an ethnic folk dance performed by a woman from India. The way of moving her eyes, neck and fingers with dexterity in her dancing was very mysterious.
Then in an Asian fashion parade, representatives from Vietnam, the Philippines, Indonesia, and India introduced to the audience their gorgeous ethnic costumes with a smile on their faces. Then, at the party, a lot of delicious dishes of their countries were set on the table, and most of them were of rice with a plain taste, the Asian staple food, as might have been expected. Every KSGG member could learn a lot about the history and habits of various Asian countries, enjoying the Asian atmosphere to the full.
