Guiding a Thai family around Kamakura

[Date & Time] Monday, May 6, at 11:15~ 16:10
[Spots] Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine, Hasedera Temple, and Kotokuin Temple (Great Buddha)
[Visitors] a Thai mother, her son and her niece
[Language] English
[Attendant] 1 KSGG member

Walking to Tsurugaoka Hachimanngu Shrine, I explained about a torii gate, Dankazura (raised curbstone), and a chozuya (purification font), and they prayed at the main shrine.  For the first time, her son wrote his wish on the ema (votive tablet) in Thai.  The mother bought many omamori (talismans) and her son and niece drew omikuji (fortune tellers).  They seemed to be so happy.  Only the son visited Hasedera Temple and then all of us visited Kotokuin Temple (Great Buddha).  They took many pictures as they had an interest in the Great Buddha.
