Guiding a Canadian Couple around Yokohama

  In Yokohama Park, we saw a lot of tents pitched for the Opening Yokohama Port Festival which would be held the next week of that day.  I explained about the history of Yokohama that started with the arrival of Commodore Perry, saying that Yokohama Station and Yokohama Bay Sheraton Hotel, where the visitors stayed were under the sea more than 150 years ago.  A bonsai exhibition was held at Sankeien Garden.  They enjoyed the beautiful flowers in various colors and took a lot of pictures of them.  We saw a few iris flowers that had already came into bloom.  They were beautiful all the more for its small number.  As we did not have much time, we experienced tea ceremony for only a few minutes.  However, the visitors realized that the bitter green powdered tea goes well with the sweet Japanese confectionary.
