There were a lot of people for New Year's visit to the shrine at Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine, though the New Year week had just been over. In the precincts various booths selling decorations for the New Year or good-luck talismans were lined, where we could feel festive atmosphere. At Jufukuji Temple, we took a memorial group photo in front of the main gate. After all of us finished walking along the hiking trail from Genjiyama Park, we headed for Kotokuin Temple. On our way from Kotokuin Temple to Hasedera Temple, they bought freshly-made "tako senbei" (rice cracker with octopus in it) at a shop where sales demonstration was made and shred it. They shared and ate the fresh-baked senbei. They ate a lot, talked a lot, and took a lot of pictures of each other - they were really a very close family.
