At Engakuji Temple, the foreign students seemed to feel exoticism while seeing the lingering snow in the quiet precincts and people practicing the Japanese archery. Then our KSGG members wearing kimono explained about how to drink Japanese powdered green tea. After drinking tea, they listened to the chief priest explain about the meaning and the basics of zazen meditation, and experienced zazen meditation for about thirty minutes. I am sure that visiting Engakuji Temple and Chojuji Temple, and experiencing tea ceremony and zazen meditation were precious opportunities for the foreign students to know part of the spirit of Japanese and our culture.
