Guiding Guests of Shonan Village around Kamakura

It was after 4 p.m. when we arrived at the last spot, Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine. It was in the autumn evening getting dark quickly. I was impressed with the calm attitudes of the professors. There were many kimono-clad children for Shichigosan, or celebration for 3, 5, or 7-year-old-children and many souvenir shops around us. However, these professors stayed cool and concentrated on our explanations without making a fuss over those things. It was getting dark. Then the lamps of the main hall and the shrine office were lit up as if it had been on the New Year's Eve, making a sharp contrast against the darkness. We stood at the top of the stairs in front of the main hall and looked down toward the Dankazura. Lighting along the street stretching to the beach looked like aligned stardust. Their colors made amazing scenery against the sunset hue. The guests would never forget this beautiful scenery of the sunset as the last impressive event at Kamakura.
