Eight foreign students had a lesson of flower arrangement.  We chose flowers suitable for hot summer and made three kinds of flower materials with branches.  We tried representing summer and coolness.  The students smiled to see the prepared flowers, saying that amaranth with cockscomb is unfamiliar and a new kind of chrysanthemum, which reminds them of a sparkler, is beautiful.  We explained about the basic knowledge and technique and the branches and flowers used in the lesson, and gave a demonstration of flower arrangement.  We helped them cut the branches because it was difficult, but we had them arrange flowers freely as they liked.  They arranged the flowers with their own creativity.  Lastly we helped them make their work beautiful.  They arranged flowers feeling relaxed, surrounded with a lot of flowers.  It seemed a pleasant lesson for them.
