[Place]

[Participants] 8 participants with 3 from Korea, 2 from Australia and 1 each from Spain, Egypt, and Nigeria)
[Attendants] 4 KSGG members

The fourth speech contest in Japanese by foreign students of Yokohama National University was held on the Tokiwadai Campus.  Three of beginners or intermediate students and five of advanced students gave speeches on “My Challenge” this time.  I was surprised to find that the levels of their Japanese were so high and the advanced students had a large vocabulary and also wondered how they could speak Japanese that well six months after they came to Japan. I was so impressed by their speeches and was able to fully understand about their various challenges.  Mr. H from Egypt , who came to Japan in October and is one of the foreign students KSGG members teach Japanese, made a speech on his challenge of studying Japanese and won the second highest prize(the prize of Yomiuri Newspaper Company).
