When I asked the visitors what interested them in Japan, they said, “We grew up with Japanese anime.” They also said, “When we saw skyscrapers in Tokyo on the first day in Japan, we felt something was wrong. However, when we came to Kamakura, we could find Japan as we had imagined for the first time.” We walked along the Daibutsu Hiking Course from Sasuke Inari Shrine, a coverture where we feel the aura flowing in the woods to the Great Buddha, thinking of the samurai warriors’ days about 800 years ago. In the afternoon we visited the Great Buddha, Hasedera Temple, and Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine. On our way back to Kamakura Station, in a shop of Ghibli at the entrance of Komachi Dori, a shopping street, they were very glad to find My Neighbor Totoro calendar for 2013 and bought it.
