The two American women who had visited Japan several times before, stayed at a bed-and-breakfast, SACRA near Kamakura Station after having visited Yaeyama Islands, Okinawa and Sado Island this time. First we took them to Kamakura Kitchoan Museum near Komachi-dori Street, where they appreciated the works of Rosanjin Kitaoji, Ryunosuke Akutagawa, Akiko Yosano and some other artists. As this was their third visit to Kamakura, they were interested in a tour course with a hiking included. We started from Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine. We visited Jufukuji Temple and then to Genjiyama Park, where we had lunch, paying close attention to the black kites wheeling in the air above us. After lunch we walked through to Kotokuin Temple via Zeniaraibenten and Sasuke Inari Shrine while enjoying hiking in the sunshine filtering through the branches of trees as well as hearing warbling of Japanese bush warblers from time to time. Walking along the hiking course, I told them the history of Kamakura, the ancient capital. Thanks to them, I spend a pleasant day, too. At Kotokuin Temple, especially, both of the visitors seemed to show great interest in the history of Great Buddha of Kamakura.
