[Date and Time] Tuesday, January 26, at 13:30 ~16:10
[Spots] Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine, Komachidori Street, and Kotokuin Temple (Great Buddha)
[Visitors] 8 U.S. media reporters
[Attendants] 6 KSGG members
[Purpose of their Visit] Kanagawa, Tokyo, Saitama and Chiba Prefectures invited US media reporters in cooperation with the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism as a local cooperative project of its “Visit Japan Campaign” in order to have them introduce attractive tourist spots in Japan through their magazines and websites to increase tourists from the US.
In Kanagawa Prefecture, its Tourist Promotion Unit of Commerce, Tourism & Distribution Division took charge of this project. KSGG attendants met the U.S. media reporters at Hachimangu Shrine. KSGG attendants, a professional guide, and a Miss Kamakura accompanied each visitor to respond to his free interview one on one. Most of the media firms used their websites to offer the travel information. As the professional guide explained in a loud voice, with gestures and jokes at times, and pronounced clearly, at each key point, I could learn a lot from him. When we parted at Kotokuin Temple, all of them had become good friends. I experienced a different type of guiding this time.
