[Date & Time] Thursday, January 22, at 11:00 ~ 19:00
[Spots] Tsurugaoka-Hachimangu Shrine, Kotokuin Temple (Great Buddha), and Hasedera Temple
[Guests] 1 Chinese from Hong Kong and 3 Chinese-Americans
[Attendants] 3 KSGG Members
[Language] English and Chinese (Mandarin)
Since all the guests could speak English, KSGG attendants explained mostly in
English. However, a KSGG member who can speak Chinese fluently explained in Mandarin from time to time for the Chinese-American couple. As it was drizzling and cold, the KSGG attendants, who were concerned that the guests might catch cold, skipped some spots in the regular tour. In spite of such bad conditions, the guests listened carefully to the attendants, showing great interest. Also, learning that the Chinese couple had been invited to this trip by their son, the KSGG attendants said they were very much impressed with his filial piety.
At a soba restaurant, which their son had browsed and found on the web, everyone was satisfied with its spacious landscaped garden with mounds heaped here and there. Lastly, the guests went to Yokohama Chinatown to warm themselves at a restaurant and had a good time.
