Our attendant met the visitors at Kamakura Station, and took them to Hotokuji Temple by taxi. One of the visitors, who lives in Tokyo, wanted to show his brother and his son, who were from Ohio, around Kamakura and called at our KSGG via Website. We had powdered green tea at “Kyukouan,” which is famous for a bamboo forest, visited the graves of the Ashikagas, and appreciated the dry karesansui garden of a Zen temple. Since we were not allowed to go into Zeniarai Benten by taxi on the weekend, we visited Genjiyama Park by way of Kaizoji Temple and Kewaizaka, or Makeup Slope, which the taxi driver recommended. The Park, where red and yellow leaves were at their best, was crowded with visitors. Following the legend that money will double if it is washed, the Americans washed their four 10-yen coins on hand. From Sasuke Inari Shrine we went up a steep hill oozing with spring water. It was just like a trekking course requiring us to manage the chain, and we finally arrived at the Great Buddha at noon through such a ridge walk. After that, as they wanted to have a bowl of rice with a pork cutlet and egg on top, I took them to a restaurant. At 13:30 we parted from them; they were to go to Enoshima Island.
