It was 18 degrees on the first day. We had warm weather for December. The weather was perfect for the sightseeing of Enoshima. A visitor came to Japan from Colorado, which is a mountain area. He experienced Japanese culture at Enoshima Shrine and asked many questions. We were moved by Mt.Fuji seen from Enoshima Lighthouse dimly. We visited Iwaya Cave after lunch. However The Second Iwaya Cave was decorated with illumination, which wasn’t visionary but rather had a Christmas atmosphere. So, he smiled grimly. Then we visited Engakuji Temple. We found that the autumn leaves were so beautiful from the main gate to the precincts. As the visitor was interested in architecture, he looked at the buildings of the temple with keen interest.
We visited Yokohama on the next day. The visitor didn’t come on time because he confused the JR station with the subway station. Anyway luckily I was able to meet him. I keenly felt that we should be careful when there are more than two stations with the same name. We visited NIPPON MARU , which he wanted to see. As there was a Japanese volunteer guide on the ship, I asked him to guide us. I translated his Japanese explanations into English for him. We listened to his interesting story. We could look around the ship efficiently. In the Yokohama Port Museum, we also asked a Japanese volunteer guide to show us around. The visitor from Colorado seemed to be interested in the history of the Port of Yokohama. He observed the exhibits eagerly and asked many questions. After that, we looked around the Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse. When we visited Osanbashi Yokohama International Passenger Terminal, we saw AsukaⅡ in harbor. Ocean Dream from Panama was berthed too. He was deeply impressed to see the luxury liners. After we strolled around Yokohama Archives of History and Yamashita Park, we looked around Yokohama Chinatown, the final spot. I finished the guiding after two days without any accident.
