Luckily, it was a crisp and perfect day for guiding. We went from Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine to Jufukuji Temple with a solemn atmosphere. After we saw the yagura or the tomb behind Jufukuji Temple, we walked up the mountain trail to Genjiyama Park. We enjoyed picnic lunch next to the statue of Yoritomo Minamoto. My visitor was pleased to eat rice balls I had made.
We washed some coins at Zeniara Benten Shrine. Then we climbed the mountain in the back of quiet and comfortable Sasuke Inari Shrine into the hiking trail. Sometimes viewing the landscape around us, both of us walked lightly and reached the Great Buddha in no time. My visitor exclaimed to see the Great Buddha, saying that it is far more impressive than the Great Buddha in Nara where she had visited before. From the Great Buddha, we walked back to Kamakura Station without taking the Enoden Line. After we walked along Komachi-dori Street and Wakamiya-Oji Street, we enjoyed to see cluster amaryllis of bright color along the roads. As my visitor likes bird-watching, she taught me the names of the birds and we enjoyed watching them together. My visitor and I really enjoyed nature of Kamakura in autumn.
